Building trust before teaching it
When I joined Habits at Work, the company was a small team of about five people with an ambitious mission: helping organizations build stronger cultures through trust, leadership, and behavior change. My role was to create a brand that reflected the quality of that work and gave a growing company the credibility to stand alongside much larger organizations.
Creating a brand for where the company was going
Habits at Work had strong ideas, compelling content, and a growing reputation, but its visual identity had not yet caught up. I built a cohesive brand system designed to make the company feel established, credible, and distinctly its own.
That foundation shaped everything that followed, from the website and marketing materials to the experiences participants encountered during training.
Building the Foundation
The brand needed to work far beyond marketing. I translated the visual system across the website, presentations, participant workbooks, facilitator materials, exercises, and other tools used during live training.
Every touchpoint became an opportunity to reinforce the same experience, creating consistency from the first interaction with Habits at Work through the training itself.
Establishing a Design Practice
As the company grew, so did the volume and variety of creative work. I developed reusable templates and design systems that made it easier to produce presentations, training materials, proposals, and marketing content while maintaining a consistent brand.
For a small team moving quickly, those systems helped us scale without losing the quality or personality that made the company distinctive.
Adapting when everything changed
When COVID made in-person training impossible, Habits at Work had to rethink how the business delivered its work almost overnight. As a small team, we were able to move quickly, transforming experiences originally designed for a room into engaging virtual learning.
I helped translate the brand and training experience into a digital environment through redesigned presentations, virtual learning materials, digital resources, and an evolving web presence. What began as a necessary pivot became a new opportunity for the business to grow.
Helping a small company think bigger
As Habits at Work evolved, design became part of nearly every way the company presented itself. I supported new business opportunities, marketing, digital learning, client presentations, and the growing library of training experiences.
During my time there, the company grew from roughly five people to around fifteen and began working with organizations including Google and Microsoft. The brand and creative systems grew alongside it, helping a small company show up with the confidence and polish of a much larger one.
I've literally never seen something you've created ever be short of amazing, no joke. I'm sure its great!
